Bargain of the Week - Elgo Estate Allira Pinot Noir, Strathbogie Ranges, 2011 - Sydney Morning Herald, Good Living Magazine

"Seldom do I find worthwhile pinot at this price, but this is a very tasty wine. It has a medium-red purple colour, dark-cherry aroma with a little herb and meatiness and the palate is lively and lean with low tannin and a fresh, clean finish. Excellent drink now quaff. 14 per cent alcohol. 87/100. Food: Pasta with ragu."

Allira Shiraz 2008 - James Halliday Wine Companion 2012

Allira Strathbogie Ranges Shiraz 2008 - 4 ½ stars and a Special Value Star.

Medium- to full red-purple; a notably complex bouquet with liquorice, leather and dark chocolate, with more of the same on the medium-bodied palate; what a bargain. Screw cap. 14.5% alc. Rating 91. To 2018 $13.

Elgo Estate 2006 Shiraz - From the Strathbogie ranges, careful hands-on wine-making management has produced a fleshy, full-bodied wine with loads of ripe berry fruit filling the mouth. It finishes with spicy fine tannins and has an impressive length that is unexpected. Purchasing a bottle will lighten your wallet by around $25. However, if you’re a wine tragic like me, you will buy half a dozen and put them away for seven years and watch them develop into exceptional drinking wines.
