Deep crimson pink in colour, the nose is fresh and clean, evoking fresh strawberries, cherries and toffee apples. The palate is full and exhibits more vibrant cherry and strawberry fruit character. The wine finishes cleanly on the palate with fresh acidity, inviting more sips!

Pinot Noir from the Elgo Estate vineyard was handpicked on March 18, 2004 at a ripeness level of 13.0oBe. The harvested fruit was immediately whole-bunch pressed to a point where it was considered that sufficient colour was extracted and transferred to tank for cold settling. Subsequent to this, 75% of the juice was fermented in barrel, while the balance remained in tank. Following fermentation, the wine underwent protein and tartrate stabilisation, was sterile filtered and was bottled on October 22, 2004.

This Rosé can be enjoyed on its own, especially on a warm summer’s day but would also be excellent accompanying antipasto, grilled vegetables or barbecued meats such as satay sticks or gourmet sausages. Not a cellaring proposition, just enjoy with friends while the sun shines over summer!
